Clomid is one of the most commonly prescribed fertility medications used today. Clomid, or clomiphene citrate, helps to release one or multiple eggs in a cycle. Clomid is typically one of the first drugs if ovulatory dysfunction is determined upon initial analysis. At Denver Fertility -Albrecht Women’s Care, we encourage patients to have their cycles monitored while taking Clomid to monitor the development of follicles, hormonal levels, and determine the timing of intercourse to conceive.
There are many different types of medication to aide fertility. Each patient is unique, thus use of fertility medications will be adapted to fit your individualized needs.
The purpose of HSG is to determine whether the uterine cavity appears normal and your fallopian tubes are open. The test is performed between cycle days 5 and 12. During the test, a speculum is inserted into the vagina and the cervix cleansed with an antiseptic solution. You will be given an injection to numb the cervix. Then a special dye is instilled through the uterus and tubes and the movement of this fluid can be seen on an x-rayscreen.
