A Personal Note

Albrecht Women’s Care designed this website to assist patients and professionals in accessing information that will make the journey through infertility less stressful. Creating a family should be a straightforward, intimate and celebratory rite of passage, but for those affected with infertility, this passage into parenthood can take a toll including: marital, financial, social, emotion and physical. Infertility has been likened to other major life stressors such as the loss of a loved one, the break-up of a relationship, or being afflicted by a life-threatening disease. It is not uncommon for people to feel angry, lonely, isolated, anxious, hopeless, jealous, or depressed. Others report that they experience few of the above feelings. The key is that infertility is unique to each person and couple, and that there is no one “right” way to feel or experience infertility. We do recommend counseling for those who are experiencing a disturbance within their normal daily lives whether by recurring sad thoughts, hopelessness, despair, anxiety, relationship challenges. We will walk with you every step of the way and have available a licensed clinical social worker who has, for twenty-five years, helped patients dealing with infertility.

Your Initial Consultation

You will meet with Dr. Albrecht during your first consultation, normally for one hour, during which time you will be encouraged to ask questions. You will find him an attentive listener, quick problem-solver, well-versed in infertility and reproductive endocrinology and an expert surgeon. He will adroitly answer your questions and explain the possible causes of your condition. He will then explain the most affordable, quick methods of achieving pregnancy. Known for his kind, patient temperament, you will leave feeling respected and honored with all of your questions answered.

Some patients will be best served by undergoing a physical examination, blood draw or ultrasound during the first and subsequent visits. The Albrecht Team will explain what to expect during each appointment and procedure.
